Live musical accompaniment for South

“As part of the Society’s Shackleton centenary commemorations this special screening of the BFI’s restored version of South, the film record of the Endurance expedition, will be accompanied by live music.”

The Society mentioned above is the Royal Geographical Society and I found this event in the new issue of Geographical magazine which you can read at your leisure in the Periodicals Room.

This week’s Magazine of the Week is Time, mainly because the first page I turned to was the last page and it was about the guy who writes xkcd (try this one). Flicking through the rest of Time I liked the way the articles are annotated with stats and illustrated with diagrams, so you’re run through a longer chunk of text is made a little easier. Try it.
